I can only imagine the amazing history that is lurking in this archive which is being sold as one lot.

There are also coins being offered in 25 lots. No specific dates or coins mentioned except a 1803 Capped Bust $10 Eagle in MS61 .

I plan on watching when these items are listed on ebay.

Enjoy.

I just remembered this was available for viewing. There are some coins being offered.

1793 1/2 cent
1800 and 1807 dimes
8 Draped Bust Dollars
18 different gold coins the latest which is dated 1827.

In my opinion, I think a collection of this caliber would do better at a big name auction house versus ebay.

220 years of collecting spread across seven generations, and Henry Eckfeldt is just gonna sell it all on ebay?

Surely there must be someone in his family who wants to carry on the tradition.

I think only that 1 lot is of the Eckfeldt's. Why would they do this? They just want to sell everything at once and be done with it? The other 25 lots are just other coins Tangible Investments wanted to sell along side it.

Yeah, that's how I'm reading it.

I don't see much problem with ebay as the venue as long as they publicize the sale. Once word is out, the appropriate people will gravitate to it. This is too important a piece of history to be broken up - sellers obviously get that - and it should do fine as long as they don't set an unrealistic Reserve.
