Hi everyone!

It's been a whole since I've been on here. But, I continue to build my collection, albeit at a snail's pace.

This coin was given to me as one from the reign of Herod the Great.

I was wondering what I could do to clean it. I've used a tooth brush to clean off some of the red stuff, but it doesn't seem to do much overall.

As always, thanks so much for all your help!

Erin :)

There is little room for improvement here. What you may wish to try is storing it in olive oil - some coins show considerable improvement after extended soaks (in some cases, years go by). Id recommend leaving it as is.

It looks fine to me.

IMHO - You want to keep some of the 'age' on it.

It is not a 'new' issue and doesn't need to look like one.

Thanks for the replies!

I'll put in in a cardboard flip and leave it alone.

It's a cool piece and I wouldn't want to do any damage to it.

You guys are the best!

Erin :)
