Does anyone have any experience with this place? I can't find much about it online, most of the reviews are talking about food.

There's a coin dealer there? Clearly I need to be paying less attention to the food vendors, :P

I don't know anything about this either, but I got this info when I went to a recent book sale and the sales person said a man had bought their coin books.

Yes, it is at the St. Lawrence Antique Market. When I was there last year there were around 10 dealers. You will need a few hours if you want to browse around. So don't take the spouse like I did otherwise you will keep getting pestered to leave :(

The prices are decent. When I was there I saw a lot of world coins. Some Canadian sets (no silver) check with a magnet. I was there for world banknotes and the guy who was selling them had a nice selection. Nothing UNC but a lot of F to VF and priced around the same as ebay prices. So if anything you would save on the shipping. He was willing to negotiate but not by much.

I picked up some nice Spanish, French pre-Euro notes.

Watch out there. There's a guy I know there whose family sells replica antiques and he dabbles in replica coins (basically he'll copy anything that'll make him a buck - ducats, reales, anything of high karat gold - and sells them as if they were the genuine article) so check and double check the coins' edges for mould parting-lines or machine tooling and especially buffing and cleaned coins. If you want more details, Slur, PM me, I'll be happy to help you out.

Basically gauge your coin dealer with some specialized questions to see what type of knowledge s/he has and if they pass your test have at it. Both of you should come to the same understanding about what you're dealing with.
