I don't know the fees
ebay started with. I just started my
ebay buyer account in July 2012. It was my son who signed me up. Of course I heard of it back in 1999, but had no interest.
I think this is what occurs with smaller selling venues, people only discover them, when they need the service. Then they do a search and stumble a cross a site like this.
Time will be the judge whether or not it succeeds. It would be great to have 3-4 viable selling alternatives to
ebay , who didn't have huge selling fees. We need to remember different sites will only appeal to people with different needs.
ebay is great for certain people with large inventories.
A small or med seller has different needs. There needs to be more specialized selling sites for niche items, such as coins and collectables. From their comments on opening page - they have a customer base, and are relaunching under a different name and launching a new platform. This is my take on it.
