According to the CCF Glossary a lamination is:

"A thin piece of metal that has nearly become detached from the surface of a coin. If this breaks off, an irregular hole or planchet flaw is left."

The seller of this ebay listing calls the damage to his coin a "lamination" but it is clearly post mint damage, the remnants of a mount of some sort/ex-jewelry.

Just because, I sent this seller the definition of a lamination. IF I get a reply I will post it here but, I really do not expect one.

He currently has almost 8700 individual listings in numismatic categories. He knows what he's offering.

Ha! Yeah, that ain't lamination. And calling it such is an invitation to hurt your reputation. Drat.

I wonder whether he has trouble defining it. "Pieces of metal welded onto coin, then cut off. Picture says it all." , or "Lamination"? The coin looks real and the price is not unreasonable for the condition.
