Update on the Savannah Scammer:

The seller recently signed up for Square Trade. I reported 6 listings that I know are misrepresented along with the auction that she won that contained all six of these coins. Square Trade replied that, since misrepresentation is in violation of ebay policy, that the matter should be taken up with them. So much for Square Trade looking out for the buyer, huh? Here are the links to the auctions:

I reported all of these auctions to ebay and, guess what? THEY PULLED THEM! Score one for us

Here are the auction numbers, though you can't see the auctions anymore: 3955469093, 3955468159, 6955468378, 3955467561, 3955467215, 3955469300.

Here is the link to the auction that she won:

Rest in Peace

Susan, you amaze me constantly with your willingness to step up and do what is right.

I know how frustrating it can be when you think that you are the only one trying. I just want you to know, that I for one appreciate all of your efforts to make this hobby a safer place for us all.

I have made the link to report ebay violations sticky, so hopefully people will use it. Any suggestions to forward this cause are welcome!

The Savannah Scammer is at it again. I just reported these auctions: 3956787397, 3956787130, 3956787515, 3956787611, 3956786988, and 3955302763. All are National Mint replicas without stating replica or copy in the title or description. Remember that the new policy states that this must be stated in the description and title.

I agree that this is wrong, but at least the description on the 2x2 is right. At least on the auction 3956787397

Yes there should be a better written description.

She always puts a more accurate description on the holder; the only difference now is that she's putting "token" on there as well. The problem is that it's in an image. The actual text (which is used in the search engine) needs to be in the title and description. She has sold the Morgan replicas for over $1700 in two cases that I personally know of. Another one sold for over $1100. Many people don't know what "mil" means, so they are not even aware that these are plated. On the surface, it doesn't seem as bad as it really is.

The reason I'm targeting her now is because one of the buyers of a $1700+ replica emailed for my help. That's when I started searching her newly listed items every day. Too many collectors have no idea what they're buying. If you look, she runs these bogus auctions for 1 day and her legitimate auctions for 7. So, there's no way that she doesn't know how misleading these auctions are.

It helps that ebay pulled the last 4 of these replica auctions. They are not as lenient with a second offense when it involves blatant disregard of their policies.

I remember auctions of this nature. With the private auctions, how does one know that they are not "friends" placing bids to make the other auctions appear more legitimate. I know all too well that most have no clue what mil means. Even in the law suits against NCM they changed the meaning from thousands of an inch to millions of an inch. Either way, the gold, silver, or platinum covering these junk medals are not enough to gag a maggot.

Maybe ebay will step up and learn to stop this type of seller.

I'm encouraged that they pulled the last 4 auctions of this nature. From what I've been told, her auctions have never been pulled even with a lot of reports.

I think with ebay losing a fair number of sellers due to their outrageous rate increases that go into effect on the 18th, they realized that they better improve the image of the venue. That might be the reason things appear to be improving.
