Hi everyone,

Did anyone out there know that ebay travels around the country conducting an ebay School.?

I just got a notice that they were going to be in Las Vegas and for a fee of "only $59.00" I could attend a "school" that they were holding that would teach me how to buy and sell on ebay.

Now why am I cynical about this. Do I think ebay is out to help me or them..? Everthing I have have heard ebay treats their buyer's like non-enities. They make it nearly impossible to contact them directly. If you have a problem you have to handle it yourself.

I think I will pass on their school.

They also offer this course at the ANA shows. Seems to me that they are hoping to put a better spin on their reputation.

I'm more curious to know who from ebay is going to conduct these "classes". Even the new head of the coins/collectibles department does not know about coins. The last acting manager didn't either.

I could actually see where they might be able to help for buyers of items that don't involve so much risk, but I would never trust them to teach how to buy coins. I think that experience is needed to do that. JMHO

In my lectures to service clubs and organizations I ALWAYS recommend that they go to a forum and ask before they bid on any coins. From now on the will be the only forum I will recommend.

I have no problem with that Susan. We got some great people..! I haven't had the chance to work with ND before but it sure has been a pleasure. Crystalk has been with me in the past and we have always had a lot of fun. I like the way some of the new people are jumping in with their thoughts and opinions as well. Susan you have worked hard an long and have proved your desire and skills to make this forum a success.

This is going to be a GREAT forum and one that I appreciate being allowed to join.

You know, when I put this together, I didn't even hope it would take off like it has. I'm still surprised every time I take a look that there are new members and new posts and lots of great discussions. I expected things to be much slower for the first couple of weeks at least - boy am I glad I was wrong!

I think we have a great bunch of folks here and together we can do great things for the hobby
