Very attractive token. Don't know why the seller wouldn't have taken the coin out of the holder for the picture since the mylar's torn anyway. I don't know very much about tokens, so I can't give any opinion on the value.

I should have added that I wouldn't touch it with the "SOLD AS IS" statement and insurance isn't even an option. The shipping is reasonable at least.

First what I found interesting was that this token is from a town near where I grew up.

The thing that I found kinda funny was, the starting bid is $5.00, yet the 2x2 has a price of .50 cents on it !!! Now that is a mark up.

I think the 50C on the holder is meant to show the denomination of the token. There have been a lot of tokens distributed over the years from merchants or individual organizations that could be used for a monetary value at different events. At one time, I had a token that stated it was worth $1. I wish I could remember the exact details of it. But I remember that it commemorated the Peace Bridge (Buffalo NY to Niagara Falls?). The monetary value was only for the fair or the celebrations that were held.

Ok Susan, I see that now. Normally the lower right corner has the selling price of the coin, at least the ones I see. Thanks for setting me straight.
