Sorry I don't have any pics as of yet, I found this coin yesterday in Brockville and I have never heard of this. Is it possible for a re-punch over an incorrect second number, as you can plainly see there was a 5 under the nine. My camera is out of town, left at my girlfriends house. Cheers and thanks in advance for any help.I'll post pictures soon. Cheers. Jon

Is there a coin shop in brockville. I'm in kingston and am trying to find a coin shop nearby? Also, we're they re punching dates in the nineteen hundreds. I heard this practice was pre 1900.

Artdio, that sounds like a nice one to have for sure. This one on the 9 the bottom of the circle is flat across then goes 90 degrees of the left side of the circle. be interesting to find out.
Bob, there is the Coin hunter downtown, I have dealt with Paul many a time and he is fair and tells you upfront current value of a coin you may want to sell. I have found him to be the best in the area. I wasn't sure how long the re-punch practice was done.

I finally got my camera back. To me this definitely looks like a re-punch over possibly a 5, what's your thoughts here?

I do not see it myself. Comparing an AU specimen, the contours of the 5 do not match any of the 9's. The 5 appears to be fatter. So I vote for PMD.
