I like the Magna Carta one, the other 2 pound with the ship I like except for the outside part, too much open space for my liking, when something simple could have really enhanced it there. I don't like the Battle of Britain one. The wording in the middle just feels wrong (oh, and it's 8 quid, WHAT?), the running men look a little strange to me, I could think of 100 ways of making this a much better coin.

The 5 pound coins, the battle of waterloo is just what it is, nothing special, it shows something and you can see it. The Churchill one is probably as ugly as the previous crown one of him. I guess if you put his face on it, you aren't going to get pretty.

I don't like any of them but the Magna Carta one at least has some eye appeal.

The Winston Churchill £5 is one of the ugliest coins I've ever seen. He was not an attractive man.

If the £5 Churchill coin is ugly, what do you think about the 1965 Crown coin that he is on?

And in 2016,we get him on the £5 banknote which will circulate.....

I like the Battle of Britain coin.
Does anyone know the total mintage numbers for these 2015 coins?

I'd think the mintage will be quite high, the economy's picking up, and 50ps get used a lot of xmas when demand is higher, so you won't know circulation figures until 2016 at the earliest.

Yeah, it has been picked up on on another forum. Does this have some weird legal issue? I wouldn't have thought so, but maybe there is.

"Schoolboy error" on Magna Carta £2! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...a-Carta.html

But no mention of the above 50p omission!

So this historian would have preferred one of John's men sticking a seal down then?

Dickens didn't have the names of his books printed on his face, does it make it historically incorrect?

Here's a website with a painting of John SIGNING the Magna Carta.

And another one.
