I'm not sure if the Ollie's stores in western Pa. are a national chain or not but today I found The Whitman Classic presidential album for sale there for $2.99. This was for the album that only holds the P and D mints for each president.
May not be the greatest bargain in the world but if you need that album it might save you a little money Edited by davef 11/07/2014 10:46 am

Is this an album or a folder? You use both terms. The album allows you to view both sides of the coin. Folders only allow view on on side. Given the price, it must be a folder.

I've seen them there. They are the folder. Ollies is a regional chain in the Pa Md De area.

The ones I got are albums, sorry for using the word folder at the end. They are album #2227 which is the album with the slides so both sides of the coin can be viewed. I'll try and go back and re-word the first post

I found them at half price books for 3.99 for the whitman album. Super funny thing was they were selling the folder for 2.99. I ended up getting One of the albums to try to start a circulated set for giggles. I'm at the bank enough asking for spare halves. Might as well check their dollars for fun.

How common is it to find decent coins at banks? I kept some of the earlier gold dollars in my safe and they toned horribly. Though one came out super nice. It was the only one I ended up keeping.

If your asking about Presidential dollars. I've been getting $200 face value in rolls every other week for about 2 months and I've found several of the post 2011 issues each time. If you are looking for the most recent 2 issues I've bought the P and D versions of each on ebay for $2.25 for the 2 coins including shipping. I hate to pay more than face value for any of these coins but figured that price was to good to pass on. It did take about 10 different times bidding to finally win them at that price.

I was mostly wondering if they tone badly like the earlier gold colored dollars. I plan on only paying face value for mine until I get down to a impossible date.

I've been finding them in all type of conditions. Some early presidential ones still look decent and some only a year or two old look dirty all ready. I usually pull all the really nice one's out then look to see if it's an upgrade to what I all-ready have.

You should go there more and see if they have other Albums for that price. For that price you could go on line and resell them for a lot more. OR keep them.

I was at an Ollie's today and picked up 8 of these. I don't need these for President dollars, but reversing the pages gives me blank small dollar albums. Hopefully, they will get more denominations in the future.
