I had a buyer file a not as described case on one of my items. It wasn't because the item was not as described; they just wanted me to pay the return shipping. I responded to them through the case saying that I'd be glad to take the item back if they shipped it to me at their cost. They never responded. The case was closed, but the defect still stayed on my account.

I called ebay and was told that based o their strict policy, they cannot remove the defect unless the buyer confirms that the item was as described. Basically they'd have to admit that they lied when opening the case. This would never happen. I told the ebay rep that it was my strict policy that a defect shouldn't count unless it could be proven to be true and I would not get off the phone until they could prove that to me. They escalated the case to a manager who promptly removed the defect.

Nice job. A bit hard to fight customer service reps over the phone, I know because I spent 2 hours fighting WestJet on the phone last week when they unexpectedly cancelled the flight. Nothing came out of it, so now I have to take an extra 2 days' vacation so that I can actually get on the alternative flight they booked me on.

I understand your concern, but unfortunately there is nothing I can do. Please allow me to apologize.

Doesn't that statement raise your blood pressure?
