I thought ebay wouldn't let you list raw coins at $2,500 or higher. I guess anyone can now do anything they want on ebay:

Nope, if you search, there are plenty of raw coins above $2,500 and well into the $50k Range.

There was a time when ebay did not allow auctions for raw coins starting over $2,500. I'm thinking it was 2011 or so when the rule was put in and it appears to have been dropped now.

According to this page it is still required. it seems shoddy enforcement is the issue here.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies...rstamps.html
"Single coins listed in the Coins & Paper Money > Coins: US category with a starting bid price, reserve price, or Buy It Now price of $2,500 or more must receive a numeric grade from an approved grading company, and the numeric grade must be included in the listing."
"Listings for raw coins must follow these guidelines:

The starting, reserve, or Buy It Now price for the coin is less than $2,500."

Yes....I have noticed that a lot of sellers are ignoring ebay's "guidelines" and ebay seems to just be allowing it to happen. That's too bad.
