Today: A stunning BU 1962-D LMC

Blazing full red, not even a hint of toning or spots.
No distracting marks with the naked eye, and it even looks
pretty good with my 10× loupe.

I'm sending it to NGC and I think it'll get at least MS63.

Not bad for a coin that I received in change from McDonalds!

I agree, some of the pennies I find from around the area are bright red, not even a mark, EVEN SOME PARKING LOT PENNIES ARE STUNNING. Then a brand new dollar coin straight from the mint looks like it went through the mill. Go figure!

I worked in a Dollar General for a while, and though I didn't get it personally, my manager got a $10 gold certificate without a crease, tear, or stain anywhere on it. A little old lady came in and said it was the last money she had, and we gladly took it from her, and gave her whatever she wanted in the store.

As far as things I've personally gotten, I have some $2 red seal notes, a few Ike silver dollars, some 70's style 20's, 50's, and 100's, just the other day I got a 1945 liberty dime, though it fell out of my pocket in the car and I've yet to find it under the seat.

I've got all the gold dollars, some SBA's, bicentennial quarters, about 600 wheat pennies, and a ton of random other things. The best one I got was a 100 with no folds or tears or anything in it. Can't remember the year off hand, but its pretty cool.

I work at Subway now, and I run the register most of the time. I'm always looking at coins, bills, and customer's wallets. I frequently ask them if they'll mind using a certain coin/ bill or if they would mind trading me one of mine for theirs. A lot of people don't care, so I get all kinds of goodies. I know some of what I have is only face value, but some of it isn't, and either way I am happy with it.

A few years ago I got $100 out of an ATM. The bills turned out to be 5 brand new sequential $20 star notes. I've also gotten several silver quarters, nickels and dimes. In the last couple of weeks I've found two mercs in change. I've also got a couple of rolls worth of wheaties that I've found in change. I always save those.

Wow - most of us haven't seen a 2009 dime, and you got 2010 ones. Crazy.

Dustin,

Get those dimes on ebay before the buzz subsides and common sense kicks in.

I cashed in dump coins on Sunday and got some bills back. I asked the teller if she had any $2 bills, and she had 15 of them! No red seals though, just series 2003, 1995(I think), and 1976. A couple of them had that stupid "Where's George" stamp all over them. None of them had any value over face, but still a nice little stash!
Rest in Peace

I never seem to find anything really interesting, but my wife often does. This weekend she presented me a 1944 Lincoln Cent that she received in change.

Today - The Target cashier had a drawer full of BU 2010-D Shield Cents!

He even told me that the was giving me 'three new pennies' in my change!

I didn't ask him for any more than that.
I have some already, and I want others to get them in their change!

A few people at that Target will leave happy!
