I will be putting some interesting finds into circulation, in memory of our dear friend Gary Burke. Update: Today, 23 BU 2010-P Union Shield Cents were added to Denver circulation.

I received two wheats in change at McDonalds Saturday, a 29D and a 51. Weird how that happens sometimes. I showed my wife and said, "See, this is why I look at all of the change I get." She really didn't care. LOL.

Quote: She really didn't care I got criticized for spending my Shield Cents ("you spent them?!"), but she calmed down when I explained that they were spent in memory of our colleague. Good thing I didn't spend a 40% JFK or I'd get a frying pan on my head....

I sent 10 Shield cents out into circulation last week, 5 each in two separate dumps.
I was considering stamping them with my initial to see if anyone on here finds them......but decided to not harm them.

Figured that would get a reaction! LOL. Anyway - picked up a 1945D Jefferson Silver War Nickel today in change. It was all spray-painted black. Fills a hole in my circulation finds set of Jeffs.

I never thought of that.... .......sending some of the old one's BACK OUT...... .thats the coolest Idea I ever heard of.......talk about "seeding" for new collectors! ! as a new collector how cool would that be to find a Shield nickel? ? simply amazing....imagine if many people did that !!OH I know the 20,000 rolls of nickel guy would be shooting for 100,000 rolls to look through Still an excellent Idea......SOMETHING for us all to think about....A small seed.......Gene

I finally got an AU 2010-D Native American dollar in change. Denver Light Rail change, that is. There were also a 2009-D Native and and a 1999-D Susie B (both AU) in my $13 change. The other ten (circ. Presidential) Dollars will be used in the car wash:

A customer brought in $330 in halves to the bank where I work today so I bought them all and searched them at lunch. Found 17 40% silver halves. Not bad for 30 minutes of looking at coins. Deposited the rest back into my savings account so I am ready the next time some more come in.

1951-S nickel last night. Found on my seat in a bar in Ybor City. I looked as I sat down, and there she was. I couldn't tell if it was an S or D until this morning. Its in XF condition too - and fills a hole in my circulation/roll searching folder.

Today: A 2010- P Native American dollarin my light rail change. Either it was spent from a Direct Ship roll, or (better yet) maybe some 2010-P Natives have been distributed to the Denver Light Rail system (as were some 2009-P Native American dollars). None of the coin shops in Denver have even had any 2010-P Natives yet!
