1948-S Wheat cent, but in rather mutilated shape. 1957-D Nickel, and 1969 Dime (i feel it will be a future key-date of the copper-clad Roosevelt series). |

Found a 1955-D wheat today. I literally can't remember the last time I found a wheat in circulation (other than in rolls), so this was a cool find for me.

And after the melt down of the good old silver coins from the golden age or our coinage....finding a dime, quarter or a half dollar may prove to be a challenge as the obvious destruction of these coins will make even common dates hard to find....coins for kids in lower grades will become costly and again our hobby will get the hit!

When I was a kid in the 70's I found a 1943-P War Nickel in my grandmothers change. I still have it. A couple of months ago I was buying stamps at my local Post Office. When I got my change back I heard that familiar silver coin sound as they fell into my hand. I looked and found a 1964-D quarter.   |

Found this in the till at work today. 1994 "Dollar Decade" $1 coin, C mint mark. Mintage is only 105,090 and was not made for circulation. This coin was to celebrate 10 years of dollar coins in Australia.  Steve  |

Neat how they show if you wad up a dollar bill it turns into a coin, and the queen-a ruler turns into a king-a rooster.

A circulated Yellowstone P quarter today. That makes 3 park quarters found in the span of 3 weeks (the other 2 were Glacier and Grand Canyon), which is, like, a record for me.
Also, my 7th or so 2011-D cent, which is odd, since I am on east coast.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Michael's (crafts) to buy some supplies and as the teller handed me my change I could "hear" the silver. As soon as I got outside I pulled the change from my pocket and my brother asked, "get anything good?" And I showed him a 1945-P Washington quarter! That's only my 3rd Silver Quarter found in circulation, in my life. The best part was, I didn't even spend $7 there...so all my my supplies were "free". :) -Ryan |

I think this is a little unusual, I am only like a few days into being interested in coins, going through my wifes change which she throws in a jar and I came across this US Massachusetts The Bay State Quarter; appears almost identical in size to the typical Aussie 10c and been circulating as one  |

Searching through a money box for a friend,prior to taking it to the bank and came across this coin. 1972 Yugoslavia 5 dinars, same size as Australian 20 cent coin.First time I have seen one of these in general circulation.   |

 sickboy The US put out 50 of those over a ten year period for the states, plus five more for territories. You can read about them at http://www.usmint.comOnce you have established yourself (keep posting), you'll be able to trade for and buy them on ccf. You should be able to get them for close to face value, since they made huge mintages for circulation. There may be someone wanting some Perth Mint goodies who'd be willing to swap. |

Thanks for the welcome Fredd I might stick to specific Australian coins I think, quality and less often. I hoarded Chinese porcelain for years before I learnt this lesson, and my wife will kill me if I start filling cupboards with coin albums and sheets |
