Yesterday I went through 15 rolls of bank wrapped nickels (I consider intended for circulation coins to be in circulation) and found a 1943-P War Nickel. It's in rough shape but it's silver and I love silver.

Arkie: Nice nickels. What part of Arkansas do you live in? I was born and lived in Mena for most of my life.

Just a couple counties away. I like Mena; drive through on occasion. These were handed out in Texa'kana.

Arkie: The Ouachita Mountains are one of the most scenic parts of the country. Mena is pretty, but is a one horse town and there are very few good jobs. It's also not a good place to be if you're a single guy. Most of the decent girls move when they turn 18 to either go to college or to move to a city. It's a boring place unless you like to fish and hunt, which I don't. That's why I moved to Tulsa in 2007. I like it up here except for the awful drivers. I got rear ended on Friday and almost got into a wreck today because somebody pulled right out in front of me.

Over the last few days I've found the following:

1942, 1946-D, 1950-D, 1959-Dx2, 1960 (large date), 1968-S, 1970-Sx2 (large dates), 1971-S, and 1972-Sx2 pennies

1940x2, 1947-D, 1948, 1948-D, 1951, 1952-D, 1957-D, 1959-Dx2, and 1960 nickels

1971-Dx3, 1974, 1974-D, and 1976-Dx3 half dollars

1972-D Ike

1964-D dime (I love silver!)

1957 Italian 20 lira coin (mixed in with nickels in the till at work)

1972 Canadian dime (underneath a Coinstar machine)

Series 1963B $1 bill

Series 2006 $1 star note

Series 1976 $2 bill

A coworker found a Buffalo nickel with no date, a 1950-D quarter, and a 1996 Canadian toonie at work and she sold them to me.

I bought 20 rolls of pennies to go through today. In the second roll I went through, I found this gem. What do you think it would grade at? It's not in bad shape at all for being 105 years old and still in circulation.

What a coincidence, fellow Arkansan. I found this 1942-S War Nickel at work yesterday. A customer put a bunch of change on the table and slid the quarters towards me when I saw the S mintmark. I said "how about I get rid of these nickels for you" and he said "thanks!" It is in better shape than the pictures show. It's XF if not a low AU.
