I had some one I know give me a 1965 cent at school today.

He keeps thinking I'm jewish, which I'm not, therefore, he gives me pennies because he associates Jews to like pennies.

I don't know anymore...

People at my school call me a Jew all the time, and it happens so much, I even told someone who asked my religion, "Well according to the people at my school, I'm a Jew because I pick money up." Most people don't even blink when I do it though.

Well after years of not seeing any in circulation I came across two bicentennial quarters in a roll I got so I'd have some change for doing laundry.

Nickels in change yielded a 1939p and 2 2009-Ds in one handful of change!

Haha! Had to laugh at Coinhuntingdrew and coincollector110's comments!

The other day at the local coin shop, the dealer gave me a nice 2000 half dollar as change! 'Twas a nice surprise.

I only pick up cents and nickels when people are not looking. Lol. It pains me so much to walk by a cent during passing period and think, what if it was a 1992 cam.

I pick money up of all denominations no matter WHAT the conditions are. Only time I would back off would be if the money is underneath an occupied lunch table, then I'd wait until the end of the period to make my move.

My LCS dealer gave me an '83 impaired proof half recently in change. I spend halves from time to time (we run our home-based child labor economy - AKA "chores" - on halves and Ikes), but couldn't bring myself to respend the proof. Posted it on my numista trades page to get it into the hands of another collector.

Always get good coins in change at the coin shops around me. I got a uncirculated full steps 1973 nickel the other day with decent toning that made me think a impaired mint set. It went in my album.

Found 4 dollars in clad yesterday at school under the vending machine. I asked my teacher to go use the restroom so I could get the rest. LOL.
