MAN that's a lot of money. Whenever I check the vending machines, there's usually only a dime or something like that underneath or in the coin return, but the most I found in a vending machine was $3.35, with most of it being in the coin return and the rest underneath.

On the last page I read some posts that bring me back to my high school days. I found a LOT of coins in high school old and new, in, under, and around vending machines, even on top of them on some occasions, in the hallway and even under tables in center court. I have never seen a coin and did not pick it up no matter where it was, I've picked up hundreds of them under tables while people were sitting at them eating. Everyone in my high school knew I liked coins even if they didn't like me so it was no big deal but if I did that in public (out of high school) they might react different and I have before and everything is still cool. I just pick it up and walk away. When I walked into the middle of center court surrounded by kids sitting eating there lunch some kids would take great pleasure in throwing coins at me ranging from all denominations and I took great pleasure in picking them up in front of everyone. They had there fun and I had mine. They even did that in my classes and never did get in trouble. I miss high school for that reason but now I can get a job and just buy buy buy.

Wow. I wish people threw money at me. Lol! Too bad she took em to the bank. Maybe one of the students brought in their father/mothers Wheat cent collection! |

Aww man don't even say that, I wouldn't be able to continue on in life. I don't think that would have happen though. As an example if its $10 in wheat's they just need a $10 bill. If that did happen then that right there is why you should always have "the talk" with your kids about how they are valuable and are not for spending. Why don't people do that! They started doing it after watching me pick up coins there for my first time and then discovered I wasn't bothered by having them thrown at me for there enjoyment and my benefit. Teachers brought there coins to school and asked me how much they were worth. My Computer teacher brought his whole collection to school and gave it to another teacher to show to me. There was a coin in it I really wanted, A 1931 50 cent in VF-30 to 35 and still had luster. after finding out he was saving all of them for his kids I junked my idea of giving him an offer. To this day I have not found that coin in that condition anywhere else.  |

Silverstackerkid, there are some kids at my school who throw money at me. Usually it's pennies, but I've had quarters and dimes and even nickels thrown as well. I refer to the people that throw their money at me as my "clients" since they're essentially supplying me with money. One kid threw a bunch of pennies at me one at a time, laughing as I picked them up, not that I cared since it's free money. It peaked eventually with him throwing HANDFULS of change at me, and I got a 1946 LWC off of him that way. But nobody has been throwing their money at me, although some kids I know give me their change since they don't want it. |

One of my "clients" threw a few pennies on the ground to watch me react, and incredibly, one was a 1926 wheat! I don't think they were joking around, they just threw it since it's a penny and had no idea of it's actual value.

Silverstackerkid, what's the most interesting find you got from a vending machine? I got my weirdest find yet today, there was a 1964 nickel, and strangely, a 1957 penny! Coincidence, that was my 2nd wheat in 2 days!

In today's change: 1996-S clad Dime, which I almost spent, because it's worn enough to look very much like a business strike. Frosting and mirrored fields are very subdued.
