I'm ashamed to say, but I think today's event is a sign I've fallen off the wagon when it comes to coin collecting...

My brother needed some practice making change (he starts a new job tomorrow and works with a register) so I emptied out my coin jar to use the contents as a makeshift cash drawer. Well wouldn't you know it, one of the nickels was a 1943-P. I must've gotten it in change at Wawa (I'm so focused on circulating WG bills I don't even look at the coins half the time) and didn't notice, so it's a good thing I caught it when I did! I'm happy I got silver at face value, but disappointed at myself that I almost let one slip by!

The truth is, I never got into the game of CRH too seriously since it's a lot harder to get rid of excess change compared to getting rid of small bills. The only good coins I get at face value come from Coinstar bins since that's about the only time I look at every coin in detail.

I used to work at a convenience store. One day I opened a roll of pennies and put them in the drawer. I looked through them but I didn't see anything interesting. A few minutes later, something told me to look through them again. I opened up the drawer and found an 1893 Indian Head penny. I would have totally missed it had I not had the feeling that I should look through the drawer again. This was the first Indian Head penny that I ever found.

Meow has stared coin collecting a few months ago, and bought a few graded coins. Meow also decided to start coin roll hunting a month later and found a S mint War Nickel in only the second roll of nickels Meow searched through.

But......Oh no! Meow was going to take a picture of it to show it off, but has seemed to have lost it the hoarding Cat clutter! How could have Meow done such a thing? Oh well, Meow is very much enjoying the coin roll hunting so far. good luck to all in their searches! And if one does find something nice, try to remember where you put later. Or feel the same pain Meow is feeling now......

I went to the bank on Friday, and my favorite teller was there and excited to see me. She pulled out a 1968 half dollar and a 1952 Rosie for me that she had been saving. I also snagged a 2018 d dime and a 2018 nickel as well.

Not only is the teardrop amazing. It is a raised bump. Error.
From uncirculated roll. It's also 2017 "P" printed!

Under this topic and replying to Meow my tellers frantically called me a few months back telling me some older gentelman had turned in his coin collection. I had trained my tellers on what to be looking for and can say was quite amazed when they pulled out 11 rolls of silver quarters and 6 rolls of silver dimes one of which was solid merc dimes! They sold it to me for $200 USD so they could profit. But I sold them as a lot for $1450

Just goes to show how people can help each other out, and be nice to your tellers!

Maybe I should start showing my bank tellers my finds. Being nice to your bank tellers is always good, and they'll do anything you want them too, as long as they trust you.

I got this cent back in change and, while not remarkable, it is in very nice condition. The pictures do not show how red it is.
