Interesting Find From Circulation

1913V - What is pictured on the "Sagatarius" cent? I can see that it's a counter stamped/etched cent but can't make out the image. Although I guess it's safe to assume it's something to do with the constellation/astrological sign?

The bags I pick up at the bank. The bags are customer change when cashing there change in. I like getting boxes instead but once in a while I pick up a bag.

I was getting my hopes up thinking you were somehow getting mint bags of the smaller denominations from your bank. That would be nice.

From what I understand, you can actually order the State Quarters in mint bags. If I recall correctly, you can do this through your bank. You can also get them direct from the mint but at a premium.

Since you are an error hunter getting mint bags can bring added bonuses. Things like double struck coins, major clipped planchets, off center and double struck combo errors, etc. aren't likely to be found in rolls since they are usually caught by the companies that roll the coins (for the most part, the mint does not roll business struck coinage).

Have you, or anyone else here,tried ordering any bags of the quarters just for the purpose of looking for errors?

Here's a flash forward for something we may have to look forward to next year. The new Lincoln cents are going to be commemoratives. This being the case, we may also be able to order these from our banks in mint bags as well! This opens up some wonderful opportunities for those of us who are error hunters. I've already got my list of banks that I'll be ordering from.
Just a side note, since these new cents will be commemoratives, there will likely be a limit on how many can be bought/ordered from any given bank.

Oh, while I'm here I guess I'd better contribute to this thread. One of my nicest finds recently was a 1964 proof Jefferson nickel with a rotated die error. It's still in mint condition. A mr. Bill O'Rourke, of foundinrolls.com, helped me to determine that the rotation is off by about 32 degrees. I didn't actually find it in general circulation but rather at an antique store for just a dollar. Close enough?

I also found this coin but had a question about it in world coins first. This coin is plated and only 5 mill minted.

1958P Jefferson is harder to find than you think. For some reason people hoarded this coin, the reason I dont know. I actually put this coin as one of the hard ones to find. (1938D and S, 1939D and S, 1942D, 1950D, and last 1958P) These coins my opinion are the hardest Jeffersons to find if you want to make the set from 1938-1962.
