Hflirn Pillar of the Community United States 586 Posts	Posted 11/10/2014 5:29 pm So don't take what I say as fact but I thought I read somewhere that the 1982 DDR was from a previous (year?) Die, which I found interesting. Considering the awesomeness of the 82's doubling, I always wondered why an 81 with similar reverse popped up. I'm not saying this would be such a coin b/c I am no expert, but what do you think? Report this Post to the Staff

I bet you are looking at the "E" on the EPU on your coin? Hard to say for sure what happened to it from the image. But the other devices are not affected like you would expect on a hub doubled coin. You are probably right but I do see some things I like on this coin. Depending on the quality of pics I produce I'll attempt to show some die breaks between the two coins I found similar.
