Hello all, I'm looking for a little insight into this. Does anyone have any info on this? It have not been able to match it to anything when I attempt to search the net. If you have questions that may help in determining what it is just let me know. I think the pictures will be enough. Thanks Edited by DKI 11/12/2014 4:47 pm

How do I load larger pics to the site. When I try it tells me they are too large and when I make them smaller you guys can't see them good enough.

It is a Bill of Exchange drawn on the Bank of the United States. It looks like the Second of Exchange and Third of Exchange are still attached. The image is not good enough to read the date.

Its has a first second and third not attached and is from May 1837 it appears. Could be 1937 but looks like 1837. I am trying to get a better picture so its large enough to view.

It would not be 1937. It is 1837. The date means it is from the period when it operated under a charter from the state of Pennsylvania and not under the federal charter of the Second Bank of the United States which expired in 1836.

Thank you. I will do some research on it now that I have an idea of what it is. Any opinion on value of something like this?

I'd love to see this with more details. I wonder which one was redeemed. All three together will usually command a better price since all three don't usually survive, but I collect Canadian, so I don't know American values. Your best bet would be to try contacting the American Society of Check Collectors: http://ascheckcollectors.org/gpage4.html

Hello,
I did find a article on this but have not had any success getting a value. I checked with a local coin guy but he had no idea. Just curious if anyone knows there I could send pics to see what its worth. I understand it would need to ultimately be seen in person but I am looking for a estimate to see where to go from there.
Thanks

Did you try the ASCC? They're the experts on American cheques (checks).
