I purchased these two large note silver certificates for $17.50 each and I was wondering if that would be a good price and what they would be valued at for resale. Thank you.

You paid pretty close to retail for these in that condition. You might break even if you were to sell them.
Rest in Peace

In other words, a good buy; but they're keepers, not flippers.

Not cheap enough to have resale profit potential in my opinion. If you are collecting for pleasure, not profit you might want to get one better grade example to enjoy. They are not that expensive in AU condition, $40-$50 would probably buy a nice example.

Just my Two Cents ....

These aren't the items you want to deal. They are common and in really poor condition, thus hard to find a buyer for, let alone make a profit on once all of your expenses are accounted for. Most of the small dealers I've seen try to buy whole collections of coins and notes for wholesale prices and then try to part them out. It is very difficult to make a buck in the coin business unless you have a lot of experience. Try working for a coin dealer part time first and then branch out on your own.
