This 1877 Trade dollar is slabbed by NGC as AU Details....it appears to be a 'double die reverse' (see photo with arrows), but I cannot find a DDR variety for 1877 in the literature....any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I am no expert, in fact I know very little about these, but what I can see of the 'doubling' looks more like Machine Doubling to me.

You can especially see it around the leaves. Interesting coin, though.

Thank you all for your feedback.....I noted another small anomaly in the position of the 'period' after R.....it appears abnormally high....perhaps the die break affected the positioning.

Also, the 'period' after the A almost touches.....much closer than other 77's I have seen.
