Ahh but Medieval you forgot rule 6, which states '6. You may post a coin of a ruler whose name either begins with the current letter, or move us on by posting one of a ruler whose name begins with the next letter of the alphabet.' So what I intended was that at any time someone could move us on a letter, but also with each passing day the letter will also be advanced from where it stands at that moment. Although I am at GMT, I am in the minority, so I suggest that the letter should advance at midnight EST. But you are right, Medieval, about the risk of the thread being hijacked that way. So, although I am sure no one would, I will create a tenth rule to make things watertight. Ten is a good number of rules anyway. Rules eh! Can't live with them; can't live without them.

Quote: I suggest that the letter should advance at midnight EST Since it is the time displayed as standard on this forum I agree with that. Btw, with all those Roman and Byzentine coins I was thinking of Azes II - but might give 'echizento' the chance to put one up of he has one and it's not missing from his collection. So I will have a check after I walked my dog and scan something different. Postscript: Here it is hitting 10am Saturday in a minute.

Actually, I think Medieval is right. I reckon we should give it 24 hours before moving on to the next letter. That way, people in different time zones can have a crack at it.

Fair enough PP. I had thought that anyone who missed that letter could just wait until it came round again. It would keep things rotating quickly. But if people prefer I will have a set letter per day. It might be simpler. More adjustments to 'da rules' are forthcoming....

Quote: CAN EVERYONE PLEASE REVIEW THE SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES TO RULES OF THE GAME Glad you change some. And while I fully agree that 'VisigothKing', 'Ancientnood' or 'echizento' shouldn't hog the topic, I am glad you give them the opportunity to post more than one from their huge collections. But I still have two silly questions: What about the Julias, do they fit in? And what about a posthumous issue of Agrippina Senior? Quote: Already posted mine for today. So if you want to post your Azes go for it. With the revised rules, you can go for it. Have already decided about the first coin to post, just to have to dig it up. Note to 'Valecrucis': Don't see much problems till the letter 'U' and that without having checked my Islamic, Chinese and other diverse coin listings yet.

Glad you are happy with the new set up Medieval! With regard to your remaining 'what ifs?', well consider the remaining gaps between 'da rules' as the spaces for liberties to be taken...

Nice coin Echizento, but wrong reference. It is:
ANTONINUS PIUS (138-161). Sestertius. Rome. Obv: ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P. Laureate bust right, slight drapery on far shoulder. Rev: TR POT COS II / S - C. Fides standing facing, head right, holding corn ears and basket of fruit. RIC 546.
EDIT: Hey! You just changed the coin! Well either the coin or the reference was incorrect, lol.

Actually I posted the wrong coin the first time. My reference is correct for this coin. Maybe Anoob will post the other coin. He owns it now.

Still no Azes 'echizento'? Here for my first selection: Dinero minted in Toledo under Alfonso I King of Aragon (1104-1134) Obverse: ANFVS REX around portrait left Reverse: TOLETA around cross Alfons I, who was also King of Navarre, spent his life fighting the Muslims in Spain and enlarged the Christian possessions, he died in battle against the Muslims. He was also married to the Queen Regent of Castille and Leon and titled himself Emperor of Spain because of that. A map from shortly after his reign:
