I found this cent in the most unlikely place; Sitting on a bench. I was running a bit early this morning and thought I'd just take a seat and relax. No need to rush, right? I picked one that had nobody else sitting there and noticed something peculiar laying on the bench next to me. At first glance it looked like the top of some screw head that was holding the bench together, but my curiosity got the best of me so I tried picking it up and once I did that I knew exactly what it was.. Well not really because I couldn't believe I could find a random error cent just laying out somewhere like that. I immediately reached into my pocket frantically trying to find some other lincoln cents to compare it to and sure enough, once I found some cents, the planchet matched up exactly. I'll attach some photos below for folks to confirm.

Well, didn't mean to put it in the grading section. I guess I got a bit excited. If a mod sees it, can they move it to the correct place?

Wondering if its a type 1 or type 2 planchet. Have you weighed it?

It may not be a blank planchet for a coin, it could be for a a token or a medalette or similar.
Need diameter, and to be weighed accurately to confirm if it was intended for a cent.

Couldn't be a type 1. If it is one, it would have to be an unstuck planchet (type 2). It has a rim. A blank ( type 1) hasn't been through the upset mill, which creates the rim.
