Looks like this coin took a good scrubbin'.

At a very quick first glance, one may think these are raised die polishing lines, but unfortunately, it ain't so......

Still collectible, but the steel wool scratch marks would prevent some TPG's giving it a grade. Pity.

Pity indeed! Although widely available, the 1939 $1 is one of my favorite coins ever minted.
