NJ Bob Pillar of the Community United States 655 Posts	Posted 11/18/2014 7:44 pm I have a modest collection of Finnish coins, but I don't have either of these two. Most of my coins are circulated although I do have several mint sets from the 1970s and 1980s. I like 1 Markka coins and have a fairly complete collection but my favorites are probably pre-independance 5 and 10 Penni coins. There's something special about big copper coins. january1may Pillar of the Community Russian Federation 5176 Posts	Posted 11/19/2014 3:54 pm Apparently Finnish coinage was issued for every year right through WWI and the Russian Civil War. And they didn't even switch to temporary materials either. Kind of unexpected considering how directly the country was affected - a lot of places are too busy to mint during any major war (and even more places make their coins out of zinc or iron or other temporary stuff like that).
