I have two that are a little ugly because of "leeching" from something, is my guess. The reverse has "OTTAWA CANADA" backwards.

Any idea how this happened? Was there some kind of packaging from the mint that may have caused this?

Not sure about packaging, but that is an ugly coin and you don't really want it. So you should just put it in a box, wrap it up tight and send it to ME! Box 350 Boston Mass 02134....

rats wrong address

That is the only Canadian coin that I ever wanted as a kid and never found.

There were a few different presentation cases for the 67 dollar and it's other denominations. Some of them got ugly because of storage in those cases.

I wrapped the cent up in plastic wrap after I received mine from the mint and it stayed bright,..,..but the silver coins got dark and ugly after decade stored away.

Maybe some interior printing was transferred to that dollars surface.

You can find 67 dollars at any coin show for basically BV..There are a lot out there..

I have a bunch of these in varied conditions. Only two have the writing carried over, others have some nice frosting and a couple have some nice toning.
