Heavy! (35g)

Just so beautiful to look at! Not sure what I have, but it's one of the most interesting in the set I inherited.

Thanks very much in advance for any ideas.

This is pretty piece, but I'm sorry to say it isn't real. The bust depicts Faustina II, but the piece is some type of cast medallion. I don't think it's a Paduan, but all the same it has a nice look piece.

Could it be a more modern copy of a Paduan?
Probably has some significant numismatic value, anyway.

Wow, so if this turns out to be an actual Paduan and not a later reproduction it's going to have some value. In any event it is well made. It would be nice to know if it is a 16-17th century piece. You can contact the British Museum via there web site and arrange to have the piece examined or you can take it to a museum in your area and they might be able to help.
