I'm only about a year into the CRH world and reading your passionate posts made me more interested at the beginning. Maybe good things happen to those who stop annoying bank tellers and a bag of Ikes is sitting there waiting for you :)

Get the whole of your collection out and review it. Ask yourself: 'What direction do I need to take ths collection?' Set a plan in your mind from that, and follow it, as your free time allows you.
This may be a good time to buy one or two new reference books.

One method which works sometimes for me is to have a coin or two within easy reach of my TV viewing spot. During commercials I look at it. It is not during 'coin viewing' time but rather something fresh - a new look at an old favorite. The 'read the Red Book' advice is not at all far-fetched. Cover to cover each and every coin series. Old favorites and perhaps new ideas for a goal. Sel's advice makes sense only if your pilot light is still lit. My assumption is that you are without any inspiration at all. Lack of enthusiasm plagues us all so don't loose heart. It will return by and by. |

Don't feel bad - I shook the roll hunting bug after more than six years straight. Not because of lack of interest, but due to the banks being such a p.i.t.a. with their fees fees fees -
Nice in a way not having to deal with the small volumes that I was moving.
Been roll hunting off and on for almost 40 years, so the passion comes and goes.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

Thanks for the encouragement. Hopefully my Christmas Coin I get every year from my Grandfather's collection will get me going again!

I get rejuvenated and pumped up when I find someone else who collects or who is interested in collecting. We talk and learn from each other (mostly me from them, ha!). Then I'm inspired again!
