Explore Canada's Article, NWT.

It is to commemorate the opening of Gordon Robertson Education Centre in Frobisher bay, now Inuksuk High School, Nunavut.

Dated October 8th, 1974 I picked it up because my mother loves polar bears and all I had to date was coins, silver bars/art rounds and tokens. Needed a medal and the price was right.

I'll try to upload (awful) pictures. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I can't find a web presence on this thing.

You know what, I optimize the image, uploaded it, it tells me I did it perfectly, I close the window and nothing...

Maybe if I ever get a computer I can retire my tablet...

Not sure I know what medal you are referring to, but speaking of polar bears...

Bought-My-First-Medal,-Northwestern-Territories!

I think this is the coolest design of anything featuring a polar bear, this is a Notgeld issue of postwar Germany featuring a bunch of Polar Bears at the zoo (I think the literal translation would be 'Animal Garden Ice Bears?)

Also, fun bit of trivia- The proper name for a group of Bears is a Sleuth of bears!

Long time Bathroom Reader reader and Jeopardy TV screamer, thanks for the trivia!

I might keep an eye out for bargain bin polar bears. I can't find anything on my medal, I think it is quite the obscure piece.

Your '94 Greek piece arrived in great shape by the way, looks great in my birth year binder.

Glad everything arrived well!

As far as your medal, sometimes those obscure pieces can have a good bit of value, sometimes not so much...
