I'm getting into braided hair large cents. I think it will be a pretty easy first date set to complete, as there are really no stopper coins at all.

But, I'm terrible at determining whether a coin has problems or not, especially from photos.

These are three I'm looking at. They're all around $30-$35.

See any problems? Anything weird?

Which would you pick, if any?

questionable color on 1st and 3rd as well as some obvious rim nicks and surface abrasions that detract from the eye appeal on the 3rd one most of all. I'd keep looking and be patient for coins with more originality.

The 1st and 3rd look cleaned unless the lighting is off so I would pass on both. Just my humble opinion.

I agree with the others. The color on the rim of #1 would worry me, and #2 has what looks like a little hole on the rim, and #3 has knicks and scratches on it. If your going for solid "problem free" I would pass on these. Just my opinion and I hope it helps. Good luck, that design has always been one of my favorites!

I agree, for that price range you can find nicer coins with better surfaces. These are coins I expect to see in a $10 box mixed with nicer coins.
