Went to the postoffice and ran across a little park. I spent 2 hrs looking and only made it about 1/4 the way through it. I don't believe it has ever been searched. Between the heat and all the digging I am beat.

Nice. What year is the Wheat penny? I found a 1957 at the lake when the water was low at an old swimming area.

I too have some old war sites in fairly close proximity. My buddy has been trying to get me to go to some war sites. Have to look into these areas alittle more. Don't know too much about being able to search them. I use to work with a guy whose house and property use to be part of the underground railroad. He also had a general store there where they sold tickets to get on a boat on the Cape Fear river. Slaves use to hide under the one room school until being smuggled onto boats heading north. Very cool. Haven't seen him in about 2 years.

The Wheat cent is 1956d. Only Wheat cent I have found so far.

The ring isn't real. Or at least I don't think so. The gold is flaked off in one spot. Had my hopes up aleast till I got home and looked at it. It was just what was dug up.

Bryan I live in Harnett county in between Sanford and Fayetteville. I'm in the area where it hasn't rained in almost 2 months. About time for a mountain trip tired of this weather. I see you are in the state also.

I use to go to the races there brefros. Haven't been there much since they left. It's about a 45 min. clip from here.

Well I went back to this park this morning and got to look for about an hour. The Kawanis club was setting up for kids day at the park. They do it once a year for the kids. The gentleman setting up told me there were going to be about 300 kids running around today. Will be hitting it this evening. Anyways I covered down the length of the basketball court on one side about 10 feet out and found this.
