I finally gave in and got a metal detector 2 weeks ago and I think I am hooked. This is what has been found so far.

This is the first find at a nearby park.

Went to the beach with a buddy that has one also. Only looked for 1 hr. My buddy couldn't take the heat, so we spent the day doing inside stuff. The necklace is .925

Thanks for looking.

The rest are from a few schools and a couple of little parks I stumbled on going to the schools.

I think it is just a copy. It looks to have a small detail of a seam on the edge. Hard to tell. Don't know anything about them.

A couple of the places where already searched when I got there, but I did manage to find a few nice spots that look like they haven't been touched. Mums the word.

Yeah casey there are a couple spots there that have more to give, but the ground is like concrete. You need a pick to get through it. Don't think they would like that. Waiting for the rain to soften things up a bit. I'm on one now that is turning up a great little bit. And the ground is softer. Much easier digging.

Keep an eye out for construction work areas. The first few inches of ground at least is normally removed & you can sift through the spoil heaps as well as the exposed areas. Get yourself a High Visibility vest, hard hat...& ask politely. You may well find some site supervisors let you on. I manage it over here.
