Same park as the other post. A couple of hours this morning and found this.

This-Evenings-Find-Visit-3

If only this jewelery was real I'd be a happy camper. This piece was an earring. The gold is not real, so I'm assuming the diamonds are fake also. Is there any way to check if the diamonds are real?

About 3 or 4 more visits might finish this park up.

quick way is to take it to a jewelery store for them to check. Good thing you didn't hit the back of the bullet when digging it up

The pin with the eagle looks like it might be from a WWII Army hat.

That's what I was thinking when I saw it pop up.

That is very possible. Fort Bragg has been here for a long time.

A diamond will cut glass. If you've got a piece of glass lying about that you don't mind possibly scratching, lightly drag the stones over the glass. If it scratches, at the very least you've got Cubic Zirconia.

Nice assortment ... have you found any silver there yet? I searched Bragg when I was assigned to Pope AFB. I would find Mercury dimes on occassion. I looked for the largest and oldest trees and spent a lot of time searching the base of the trunk and roots. It seems those soldiers liked to get out of the sun and used those trees to rest against. One find included five Mercury dimes and one silver quarter in the same hole (3" wide and about 4" deep. That soldier must have fallen asleep there.

No Dave I haven't found any silver yet. I would've thought I have by now. It's almost too much of a hassle to get on base and look nowadays. I ran across a couple of old Rockafeller houses back in the woods on Fort Bragg while looking for a fishing hole that I would love to search. Just haven't taken the time to look into it.
