It's approximately 1 11/16 in. or 42.86mm in diameter and appears to be Brass. It also has Oriental writing on it (Not sure if it's Japanese, Korean, or what). Any ideas what it says or what it was made for?

Thanks,

Matt

It is a Chinese medal.

The inscription reads chongqing changjiang lunchuan gongsi (e‡åº†e•¿æ±Ÿè½®èˆ¹å.¬å¸) which translates as the Chongqing Yangtze River Shipping Company.

Chongqing is a large city in Sichuan Province.

The company's website (Chinese) relating to cruises is here.

As best I can tell, the company is now part of Sinotrans Shipping Ltd.

Really? Awesome! My wife and I hosted two students from Chongqing a couple of summers ago. It was a really cool experience! Sweet find!
