Would you open and search these rolls for errors or are they worth more left alone? I have 1 of the paper rolls and 23 of the plastic rolls. They are all State Quarters. I think each roll is all of the same state and mint.

What state? I know Wisconsin has the corn leaves going on and Kansas has 'In God We Rust'. There may be more errors but I don't collect modern American.
Given how many where produced and hoarded I can't believed there is a huge premium on them. One of our members is looking for all the New York ones he can get though.

They aren't official mint rolls so I doubt it would hurt the value of them. They sorta look like the normal rolls I get from my bank, so it wouldn't hurt to check to see if they are what you think they are.

Depending on the different srates, yeah, you should check for errors. Harmonica mentioned a few errors, and also minnisota has an "extra tree" double die, so look up pictures an search though those coins!

Rolls like that I would search since they aren't mint wrapped. I have $25 mint bags of all State Quarters and am thinking about opening them to check for errors as they are taking up too much room !! LOL

I would argue the point of "finding errors in bank rolls". If you prowl the error forum under my name you will see that I am finding around one good error coin per box of nickels I search. Granted these are nickels I am searching and I have no idea if errors are more or less common in quarters, but they are out there for sure!

No question in my mind - I'd open the rolls to look for variety, error and high grade specimens. Given how common they are, I'd only keep the BU specimens and any variety/error coins. Good luck and have fun!
