Technically none. I do have coins that have been graded with no comment that I believe have been cleaned and should have been given a details notation. I am sure they would not grade if submitted elsewhere.

Being that the majority of my collection is early copper, I have some with minor to moderate corrosion issues and some with old cleanings. Holed coins are my least favorite of problem coins.

I believe most "details" problems are a trend.
In 50 years, toning will be out, and corrosion will be in.
And no one would dare have an uncleaned coin in their collection.
Just as years ago a good cleaning and then a coat of lacquer was the way to go.

Scottk, I very interesting observation and trends do change over time. It makes one wonder what the distant future will bring? At one time it looks like, it was felt okay to fill in holes. Today we call them a problem coin. I've read so much on how undesirable a cleaned coin is, yet some dealers still seam to buy & sell them.
The topic is certainly an interesting one. I hope more people will reply. I certainly knew nothing about problem coins until joining this great forum!!

hey I could happily buff a coin with a jewelers buffer, and then giver a coat a lacquer... But I won't! interesting topic, I just buy cheap graded ICCS coins so I have a good guide to grading. sometimes they are cleaned.

I buy in the Grade I want to collect in and sometime I will buy a clean coin as a filler until something better is found.

None if I can help it. Just had two come back from NGC in DETAILS slabs. One already sold and trying to dump the other.

I bought a beautiful higher grade "details" (cleaned) 1870 No LCW 50¢ coin at auction in USA for a bargain simply because it was cleaned. I was actually willing to pay more, but the bidding stopped and I was left holding the prize :) Of course, I prefer uncleaned coins, but I'm not completely turned off by cleaned ones either.

It's interesting the attitudes towards cleaned coins. I try and stay away mainly because seasoned collectors advise it. I don't know what I'd do if I found a cleaned Pr65 1948 for $500. It would be an extremely hard decision. It seems atitudes towards cleaned coin span the gamut. It also depends on how serious a collect one is. So this is a great discussion topic to here the differing opinions and why. I look forward to reading more.

Quote: how many details coins do you own? Technically none - because I do not have a single TPG graded coin. In reality way more than 28.
