When I read the post related to the 1976 attach jewel for the 1$ it remind me this one. For the 1982 dollar, I notice two size for the jewel under the first one of the crown. I got one of each. Anybody know if both of them are common or one is more harder (like the 1976) to find?

Thanks!

The small jewel is less common, and tougher to find in nicer grades. Part of the problem is that the small jewel varieties are almost always very weakly struck.

I have two large beads and one small bead, but one of the large beads is as badly struck as the small bead. The other is good.

Hard to photo that small bead, it keeps disappearing.

Is there a reason why one variety would be constantly struck worse than the other?
