I have a US coin five cent from 1978, Is this a cheap coin?

Might just be me, but does it appear that the lettering is thick? Looks like worn but possible off centered. Reverse would be interesting.

Definitely got caught in something wearing down the right side and making a semicircular line below the lettering and a divot at 11 o'clock
