Hi Everyone

I have this 1970 Proof set ,,Coins of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I was wondering If anyone could help me on the value of this set?

What was the Issue price? and what is the current value?

are these coins anything special?

Here is what I found in completed ebay auctions for 1970 UK proof sets. I sorted them highest price to lowest. Hope this helps.

There's alot of them out there. The last predecimal coins for circulation were dated 1967. The first decimal coins issued which had equal values to an old predecimal coin and were thus easily integrated entered into circulation in 1968 (but they were denominated in new pence, despite the fact that new pence did not exist yet). In 1970 they decided to mint a special last issue proof set of the predecimal currency. The coinage system went fully decimal in February 1971.

On a side note it seems the proof sets of the years 1970, 1971 and 1972 were all struck and issued in 1972.

These are usually under $10. Unless the buyer really want's it. then maybe a few buck's more
