I found this great DDO the other day. It is a 1931S DDO-001 / FS-101. It is a great Merc Cherrypicker coin. I love the splits and notches on the first 1 and the 9. You can also see the notching on the right of the last 1 too. Great variety! I think Merc die varieties are very underrated.
Awesome, I tried to find that one but no luck yet. Is there a site that gives values on varieties? I've been curious to compare rarity vs value, but my red, blue, and online resources I use have failed me.
The Authoritative Reference on Mercury dimes by Wexler and Flynn had it value at VF - $25 and all the way up to MS-65, book came out last year. There's also a pattern not listed in Judd or Pollock which was not in other books or references that which I know of.
The Cherry Pickers Guide vol. 2 also listed this one, but not quite as comprehensive.
I know PCGS also shows values for some Cherry Pickers Guide varieties. You have to click on the plus sign next to the date and mint mark on their online price guide to view it.
