Alas, this one has a die flaw, but otherwise impeccable. What are your thoughts on this one? Is the die flaw a deal breaker?

Seems to be Sear#1945 / RIC#67.
You really have to make the decision on your own, if you like the coin as it is or not.

I agree with Med.

The coin is authentic, now it comes down too what are you looking for? So people look for completeness in inscriptions others look for facial details. Some like big a planchet others are looking for fine reverse details. Some people will except a battered coin and other wait years for the perfect one.

Personally I make concessions based on price, rarity and what make a particular coin desirable and look for a feature that might be missing on most coins of the type. You have reached the point in your journey that you must refine your taste and make the needed concessions to fit your budget and interest. The coin is common enough where you can do this and not have to take the first one you see.

The flaw is quite small. It is the unfortunate placement which makes it an issue. For me the question must always be whether the price is exorbitant. Seeing that overall it is still a VF+ if not XF I can't imagine someone is letting go for a bargain !

The flaw does not bother me much as it does not scream 'here I am' !

I think the die flaw make the coin more interesting. Can't be may of these floating around. Other than the flaw the coin have nice details full legend and well centered. I like it.

Coin went for $420 which I thought was too high to pay with flaw.
