When I saw this MM, I was certain it was an RPM. However, none listed I can find match. Is it possible it could be an unlisted RPM or is this just wear and/or PMD?

Also please check me - I think this is MD on STATES. Am I correct on that?

Keep in mind that year has a punch change out that was damaged. But the image need to be closer to see if it is a RPM or not. One thing to watch for on some mint mark is striation lines. If they are on the mint mark, it is usually MD. But the image is not sharp enough to tell what is going on with your coin. I'm glad you included the date, but a closer view of the date and mint mark would be nice.

When you focus your image, focus on the field inside of the mint mark. That way the focus will be correct.

Unfortunately, my microscope has a Manuel focus and I cannot do any better. Is there a microscope which has a software focus?

Most are adjustable. Are you using a zoom on your camera? If you are, then zoom out and try again. You should be able to get it clear. I have a stereo scope, so I close the eye of the lens I'm taking an image through and get it focused and then take the image through that lens. You are so close to having it right. Keep trying, you will figure it out.

It may be a minor RPM. It probably isn't listed. But I still save them anyway. The lower serif shows the damaged punch in that area on your coin. Upper serif may be affected, but as I said, it would be minor.
