I like the toning too--it looks untouched.

I was unaware of the DDO part. What are the PUPs?

I read that in the Jefferson nickel analyst by Bernard Nagengast that the first die was 1942 hub then a 1943 hub PCGS will label it 1943/2-P 5C DDO FS-101

Quote: What are the PUPs? Taken straight out of Cherrypickers', 5th Edition, Volume I: 'A variety's pick-up-point is its area most prone to exhibit whatever characteristic(s) makes the variety unique. In most cases this will be the date, the mintmark, or legends. Other PUPs include denticles, stars, designer's initials, and various design elements.' mdpmedia

I meant what are the specific PUPs for this coin. Aside from the tail on the 3. I cant find my copy of Cherry Pickers Guide. Trying to see the DDO but missing it completely. And to clarify, this was not a find. I wish it was.

Smoker,
It was not my intention to make you look bad; I was only answering the question as I perceived it.
Anyhow, the PUP according to CP is simply the date: nothing more specific noted.
For those interested the following three designations/definitions about this coin according to CP as of 2009 are as follows:
I) URS-13: Universal Rarity Scale description states '2001 - 4000 known'
note: URS-0 means super rare while URS-22 is extremely common.
II) I-5: Interest Factor denotation is at a 'very high interest level(most general collectors interested)'.
note: I-5 is the highest level of interest while I-1 designates a very low interest.
III) L-5: Liquidity Factor comes in as 'item will sell easily, and often above listed value'.
note: L-5 is the highest level while L-1 means that an item 'might sell provided the right buyer is available, but at a discount
fyi,

Sweet pick smoke! I have had a few of these in the past, all lower grade, but sold them off, been looking on ebay and elsewhere for a cherrypick to no avail, I keep finding 1867 DDO 2¢ pieces, but none of the other cherry picker coins I search for and don't yet have.
