This is not mine (yet).

Seller wants $265.

Do you think it's worth it?

Grade?

Appears to be a "slanted 5" with a small porous area above the hair.

Also appears to be stamped off center.

Opinions?

Thanks.

It looks around the high AU range. Also, if it is a little off center it does not add any more value

For this money, a raw 1856 needs to be MS63. The coin here probably merits that grade technically, but I'm put off by the area next to the top star. Methinks that's a dealbreaker which keeps the coin out of a righteous slab, and is cause for alarm.

Find one without that spot for under $300, it gets snagged on the spot. The pics are small but that coin has a strong argument for MS64+. Aside the spot.

If you look closely on both the obverse and reverse there a smudge like areas. Under the chin. On the neck. Behind the hair on the neck and under the word cent. To me it looks like someone touched up these photos to hide something. When you add in the spot its not something I would pursue

Looks fishy to me as well.

I would stay far away from this one.

ooooo I hadn't noticed that Panzaldi. I see it now though. Blurry spots all around. Probably covering something up.

Thanks for alerting me.
