During the minting process when a coin becomes rotated is there always one direction of rotation (eg; always a clockwise turn) or is it variable both ways depending on the forces at work? Not that it makes a difference, but has this ever been determined?

The reason I ask this is to fully comprehend the process and how they arrive at such.

Cheers.

Do you mean the obverse vs. the reverse not in alignment?
Or do you mean the coin is struck twice with some degree of rotation between strikes?
