Looking at 52's RPMs on coppercoins some appear a little more "damaged" and flat at the serifs (words to describe)...so I'm wondering if this coin is a RPM or was it strategic PMD that produced the divided serifs?

Hard to say for sure. There is damage on the mint mark area, so we may not never know for sure.

it looks like it probably is a RPM. but with the circulation wear and contact damage - it pretty much makes it irrelevant. (in my opinion)...
